Purpose
The State of New York Legislature and the Governor signed into law a new piece of legislation that requires the Town of Canandaigua and all local governments, public authorities, commissions, public corporations, agencies, and school districts to develop an Emergency Health Response Plan as a result of the COVID pandemic. The legislation is very broad that we must account for essential workers, temporary housing, staggered work shifts, remote work, personal protection equipment, lists of employees based on employment requirements, testing, contract tracing, and more. This requirement extends to contracted services; for instance, our agreements with the Fire Departments, etc.
The policy must be adopted before April 1, 2021 per the legislation; and a draft of the plan must be made available by February 4, 2021.
