TEMPORARY LIMITED ACCESS TO CANANDAIGUA TOWN HALL DUE TO COVID-19

RESIDENTS OF TOWN OF CANANDAIGUA ASKED TO MAKE APPOINTMENT WITH TOWN HALL - COURT OFFICES AND COURT CALENDAR TO REMAIN OPEN AS SCHEDULED VIA LOWER LEVEL ACCESS

Beginning November 19, 2020, Town of Canandaigua Town Manager Doug Finch is temporarily asking Town residents, or anyone having business with the Town Hall, to conduct their business by email, phone, or electronic communications rather than in-person visits as much as possible, other than Town Court.  If a resident needs to come into the building for assistance, other than Town Court,  they are asked to make an appointment with the appropriate staff member.

Town Court offices and Court schedules will remain as scheduled, after consultation with Town Justice David Prull, according to Town Manager Finch. Court visitors are asked to please use the lower level access to the building (rear entrance) for Court access. Everyone entering the building must wear a face covering or mask, and will be asked to sign a login sheet for contact tracing purposes.

“These measures are temporary due to the COVID-19 situation; however, they are needed to protect the safety of our employees, their families, and the residents of the Town of Canandaigua,” said Finch.  “We have a couple employees who need to quarantine due to possible COVID-19 exposure, and, in at least one case, we have a confirmed COVID-19 case.”  We are working with the appropriate authorities to provide contact tracing notifications.

Everyone at the Town of Canandaigua is committed to continue providing the highest level of service to our residents and community during this difficult time period. For the time being, Town staff will be working remotely, responding to emails and phone calls from remote locations as they did successfully earlier this year.

Residents can rest assured their Elected and Appointed Officials are communicating daily throughout this emergency situation to manage and maintain the operations of the Town and to continue to provide the most cost effective and efficient operations as possible. The Canandaigua community is strong and resilient, and we will come through this together and stronger with a renewed appreciation for our most important resource of the many we enjoy: the people of our community.

Please call Town Hall with any questions: (585) 394-1120; also please feel free to email any of our officials. Email addresses for all elected officials and staff members are available on the Town’s website at www.townofcanandaigua.org. A general Town email address, info@townofcanandaigua.org, is also available for any comments and/or questions. This is checked daily,
