Land Acquisition

The Town Board of the Town of Canandaigua will be meeting on April 19, 2021.  A request has been made from Ms. Robin Evans to present to the Town Board a presenation on a proposal to purchase 4025 Middle Cheshire Road for greenspace protection.

As of April 14, 2021 the Town Board of the Town of Canandaigua has not met to discuss this matter in any form and has not directed the Town Manager to explore any such purchase.  This initiative is being driven by residents requesting the Town of Canandaigua Town Board consider exploring the proposal.

Letters of Support for proposal (4/14/21)

On April 19, 2021 the Town Board of the Town of Canandaigua held a meeting in which they heard a presentation from Ms. Robin Evans relating to the a request to explore the purchase.  A link to view the meeting may be found at: https://www.facebook.com/townofcanandaigua/videos/3956791821067320 .  Members of the Town Board expressed their comments regarding the proposal; however, did not provide specific direction nor was a motion made regarding the matter.

During the meeting on April 19, 2021 the following comments were made:

** Town Board Member Terry Fennelly said he would need more time to learn about the proposal, and cautioned the Town Board on proceeding as parkland.

** Town Board Member and Deputy Supervisor Jared Simpson expressed support calling it a great opportunity.

** Town Board Member Linda Dworaczyk suggested the Parks Committee discuss the matter.

** Town Board Member Gary Davis suggested he needed more time to review the proposal.
