Citizens' Implementation Committee
Purpose
Using the 2021 Comprehensive Plan Update as a basis, the Citizens' Implementation Committee (CIC) will focus on three to five action steps from the plan each year, identified with the help of strategic planning sessions and approved by the Town Board.
Each year the Town Board approves priority goals for the CIC's coming year's projects. Below is the current and previous priority lists adopted via Town Board Resolution:
Project Teams
A Town of Canandaigua Comprehensive Plan update was written in 2011, but many aspects were never implemented until the creation of the CIC in 2014. The goal of the CIC is to discuss the update and take goals to the next level using expertise from each member and assigning individual project teams to work on the goals deemed to be the most important from the Comprehensive Plan. Below are the resulting project teams that are still progressing towards their goals and continuing to meet regularly; follow the links for more specific information about each team.
Affordable Housing and Transportation
Agricultural Advisory Committee (Previously Agriculture Team)
Economic Development (Previously Mixed Use Overlay Team)
Projects Completed
Below are the examples of some of the projects that have been completed by the CIC. The recommendations were based on the work of each of the project teams that resulted in futher action by the town board in adoption of the policy or plans.
