The Town of Canandaigua Court is dedicated to serving our community with professionalism and efficiency. Our Court Clerk plays a vital role in managing court operations, including scheduling court appearances and processing payments for fines and fees. Please note that payments can only be accepted during the Clerk’s business hours, which are listed on this page. For your convenience, please remember that personal checks are not accepted. Directions to Town Court

Traveling south on Route 332, at County Court House, (on left) at intersection/light, turn right onto West Avenue. DO NOT be confused, you are leaving the city and coming to TOWN court! From that Main Street light, the court is 2 miles out on the right. Court is located in the basement floor of the Town Hall, rear entrance.

Court Hours

Court Office hours are Monday and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday from 8 a.m. to noon, and Thursday from 12 p.m. to 5p.m. We can be reached by phone at 585-394-9040 during those hours. You may also email our Court Clerk:

Court is in session at 6:00pm on only the first, second, and third Thursdays of each month. We are located in the lower level of Town Hall at 5440 Routes 5 & 20, Canandaigua, NY.

Please make sure your business is with Canandaigua TOWN Court. We are often confused with Canandaigua City Court.

Traffic Ticket Reduction Procedure

To inquire about a reduction of your traffic ticket, please send an email to DATrafficTickets@ontariocountyny.gov with a copy of your ticket.

If you are eligible for a reduction, we will provide you with a plea affidavit that you MUST sign and return directly to the Town of Canandaigua Court (the address is on the traffic ticket).

Oops... I received a ticket- now what?

Oops.... I received a ticket....now what?

Plead Guilty as Charged - Fill out Section A of your ticket making sure you include your current address and return to the Court. A fine will be assessed and you will be sent a Fine Notice in the mail. You may pay by money order, cash or credit/debit card. Online payments may be made by going to www.paycourtonline.com and entering your name and ticket number.
Plead Not Guilty - Fill out Section B of your ticket making sure you include your current address and return to the Court. You will have an opportunity to speak to the Assistant District Attorney for possible resolution of the case by mail. If not, you may appear before the Judge. A date will be assigned and the Court will notify you.
