Affordable Housing & Transportation
A Previous Project Team of the Citizens' Implementation Committee
Purpose
This team no longer meets but its work was valuable and influential. It is the hope that Ontario County will continue the work of this team.
The Town Board approved the creation of a project team in 2020 to identify ways to improve options for affordable housing in the Town of Canandaigua. This team's goal comes directly from the Town of Canandaigua Comprehensive Plan Update 2021 and the action step below was identified as a top 5 2022 priority at the September 2021 Strategic Planning Session attended by all the town's boards, committees, and project teams. The Town Board confirmed those same five priorities for 2022 via Town Board Resolution in December 2021. Accordingly, the team's focus is defined as follows:
Support the development of affordable housing options and affordable transportation options for the local workforce
The team is composed of local leaders in affordable housing including housing assistance agencies, housing developers, housing construction companies, and economic analysis experts in our region including representatives from the following agencies:
- Pathstone
- Habitat For Humanity
- Happiness House
- Family Promise of Ontario County
- Solar Village
- United Way

The group also receives input and feedback from these area agencies:
