Brickyard Road Project Underway!
We are excited to share that a major project is underway on Brickyard Road: the replacement of the water tank serving the Canandaigua-Farmington Water District! Here’s why this update is so important:
Old Tank: The original tank, built in 1964, has reached the end of its useful life and is no longer meeting our needs.
System Issues: The tank is currently “locked out” of the system, meaning it doesn’t fill or drain as needed.
Capacity Concerns: With growth in Canandaigua and Farmington, the tank’s size isn’t sufficient to handle current fire flow requirements.
Pressure Fluctuations: High flow demands have caused pressure issues, especially during fire flow testing, impacting water pressure in the district.
Regulatory Compliance: The NYS Department of Health has cited issues with both pressure and potential stagnant water.
This new tank will help stabilize pressure, ensure adequate fire flow, and support future growth in our community. Stay tuned for more updates as the project progresses!
