Traffic Count Cameras to be Installed
🚧 Important Update from the Town of Canandaigua! 🚧
Starting this week, traffic counters will be installed at various locations throughout the Town by the NYSDOT. These devices will help us gather valuable data that supports the following initiatives:
☑️Understanding how our roads are used
☑️Tracking traffic trends over time
☑️Assisting with town planning and prioritizing projects
☑️Informing decisions on funding for infrastructure projects
☑️Supporting planning by other agencies and businesses
☑️Providing access to real-time traffic data through the Traffic Data Viewer (TDV)
☑️Obtaining Annual Average Daily Traffic (AADT) and other key statistics
☑️Allowing offline data downloads for further analysis
☑️Collecting, summarizing, and publishing vital traffic data
☑️Offering complete mileage statistics for New York State, counties, and local jurisdictions
☑️Analyzing geographic traffic data using ArcGIS technology
These efforts will help ensure our town’s roads are safe, efficient, and well-planned for the future! 🚗
