Town Park Update

The Canandaigua Town Board, elected officials, and its employees are working hard to help everyone who was affected by the rain event that took place on Sunday, July 9, 2023. Our thoughts and prayers are to everyone who has been affected by this rain event. As a result of the weather event, the Town is announcing the following:

  • The Music in the Park event that was scheduled for Wednesday, July 12, 2023, will be rescheduled to a future date.  An announcement will be made as soon as a new date has been decided upon.
  • The gorge trail along Barnes Gully at Onanda Park is closed. Currently, it is too dangerous for people to walk along this trail. Everyone is encouraged to use other nearby hiking trails for their outdoor activities.
  • At Outhouse Park, the mulch around the Pirate Ship playground, the nearby bathrooms, the Pavilion (Building 400), and the bocce ball courts were damaged by the flood waters.  As a result, these areas are closed until further notice.
  • The Town Clerk’s office staff will be contacting those who had reservations for the Outhouse Park Pavilion (Building 400) and Outhouse Park Hall (Building 100) to discuss options for their upcoming events.
  • Motion Junction / Inclusion in Motion remains closed at this time due to construction of the new pavilion.
  • All other parks are open for your enjoyment.

Should you have any questions, please contact Town Manager Doug Finch at dfinch@townofcanandaigua.org.
