Update to Canandaigua Consolidated Water District Rates

Dear Resident,

As you are aware, with historic levels of high inflation in our economy, we are all faced with persisting cost increases for labor, raw materials, and energy.  While the Town has done its best to absorb these increases where possible, some price increases are unavoidable.

Increases to the stringent requirements set by the US EPA on stage two disinfection byproducts are affecting our wholesale supplier, The City of Canandaigua Water Treatment Facility, to upgrade equipment in their facility.  These upgrades are costly to put into service.

The town has also experienced a higher cost of disinfection materials, electric cost, labor, and repairs to distribution of water into the water district.

As a result, to continue to deliver quality service and maintain our high standards of water purity and safety, we’re informing all residents in our water district(s) that there will be an upcoming water rate increase per every 1,000 gallons of water used effective 1/1/24.  The previous cost per 1,000 gallons of water for the Canandaigua Consolidated Water District was $5.29 which will now be increased to $5.98, reflecting an increase of $0.69 cents.  The Bristol Water District fees will also increase from $5.97 per 1,000 gallons of water to $6.75, reflecting an increase of $0.78 cents.

Our complete fee schedule for 2024 can be found on our website at http://www.townofcanandaigua.org/page.asp?id=88&name=Water under the ‘Fee Schedule’ tab.

We appreciate your support as we continue to operate in this high-inflationary environment.  We promise to uphold our commitment to providing you with the highest level of service and quality.  Please feel free to contact our office with any questions you may have any questions via phone at (585) 394-3300 or via email at water@townofcanandaigua.org
